this morning as i was driving
to release our new intruder
i looked up into the beautiful sky
and i saw a rainbow
and just under the rainbow
the sun was shining through a hole in the clouds
in the shape of a seahorse
i think it was a sign
either that a truce has taken place
between all mice and humans
or that our house will be invaded by seahorses
or that a long waging war
between humans and seahorses
has ended
even though i didn't know it existed
either way
it was really beautiful
