cars

a few weekends ago
we kept our nephew foster
foster was obsessed with these three cars
and their trailer
he designated one for each of us
green = fossi's
blue = stephen's (he was very specific about it being a van)
orange = lala's
if lauren or i played with the wrong color car/van
he was quick to correct us
and restore the correct car designations
we did laps around the ottoman
we made jumps out of the trailer
we raced
we did power slides
we crashed all the cars
i haven't played with cars that much since i was 2.5
and it was wonderful

not only was he addicted to cars
he was polite
as we served him his breakfast/lunch/dinner
he would always promptly offer (before taking a bite)
"fank you lala"
"fank you stephen"

we heard "yes" and "yes please"
"fank you daniel for my waffle" (mr. p was nice enough to order the breakfast buffet so as to score fossi a waffle)

foster is the most polite person
2.5 or 25
he is a shining light which illuminates the wonderful parenting of my sister and clint
i am proud of him and he's not even mine :)

lauren and i officially have placed our order with weldon child production
we would like one foster and one rowan
in 5 years

my smile is 5 miles wide reading this...i love it i love it i love ie!
"fank you" is the perfect intonation of his verbalization of "thank you"...hilarious that he insisted it's a "van" but how sad that he knows that because we have a van. never thought i would see the day.
if you only knew how much he loves you two. how much fun he had.
did you by chance teach him "cheers"? out of the blue yesterday he takes his drink and holds it up and says "cheers mommy" and clinks his plastic cup to mine! it was the most adorable thing and i keep thinking you two are the only ones cute enough to each it to him :) now we do cheers to everything...even with his cars this morning, and even with rowans head. ouch :)
ok, longest comment ever, but i am going to keep going so as to make sure it is the longest comment ever :)
a few nights ago, foster was brushing his teeth, and he took a handful of water in his hand, slirped it up, and spit it out quite dramatically and said "like lala does" - it was so funny! now, we do a lot of slipring and spitting whilst burshing our teeth and i love it :) he really loves it :)
thank you for being who you are. for being wonderful. for caring. for loving. for playing cars/vans. for giving breakfast, lunch, dinner. for knowing he loves waffles and scoring one. for being more than an aunt and uncle to two little boys that adore you. few are so fortunate to have two like you to look up to. (i know, i know, i used variations of the preposition "to" too many times.)

i'm ending my comment, aka essay now.
can you tell i am obesessed with two things?
foster
and
you
:)
